Hi I'm Kate. I'm a freelance animator/designer/director.
Direction
I've been directing animated comedy sketches for the BBC ever since 2003. These sketches have featured on five series of Dead Ringers (including a Xmas special), Gina's Laughing Gear and That Mitchell & Webb Look - (red button content). I am currently working on an animated sketch written by Nick Newman and Ian Hislop. (please see the news section for more details).
Clients include Cartoon Network, (I animated on all three series of Skatoony), Boomerang, CBBC, CBeebies, Ch4, BBC1, BBC2 and BBC Online Comedy. I've also worked with The Brothers McLeod on a couple of projects including Pedro and Frankensheep.
Design
Previous satisfied customers include BBC1, BBC2, Peafur Productions, Silverfox Films, CITV, Glasshead, Ch4, Harbour Pictures, CBBC and CBeebies.
I do a lot of character and location design and particularly enjoy drawing caricatures. These have appeared on five series of "Dead Ringers", (including a Xmas special), Gina's Laughing Gear, That Mitchell and Webb Look, (red button content) and David Renwick's
comedy drama, Love Soup.
Storyboard
As well as storyboarding all the stuff which I have directed, I've also storyboarded an animated sequence, (which I designed and animated), featured on Love Soup and several animated sequences, (which I designed and animated), for an episode of "Horizon".
